What a delightful venue for a wedding the Royal Scots Club is. A little piece of Edinburgh history and tradition, it is beautifully modernised for all comforts and requirements. We enjoyed using different rooms for each part of the day from the cosiness of the wood panelled Library for the drinks reception to the striking Hepburn Suite for the ceremony and wedding breakfast and the spacious Princess Royal Suite for the evening ceilidh. Both families chose to get ready for the wedding at the Club and we have some beautiful photos taken against the stylish décor of the bedrooms and public rooms. Access to Queen Street Gardens gave us the opportunity for stunning outdoor photos.
As well as the setting, the staff at the Royal Scots Club made the day really special for us. Ayesha, the wedding co-ordinator, was just wonderful. Unfailingly friendly and welcoming, she helped us to plan the sort of day we all hoped it would be and was always there to answer the smallest of questions or to give practical advice. The day itself ran smoothly and seamlessly and we were left free to enjoy every moment with nothing left to chance. The food was excellent throughout – tasty canapes for the drinks reception, a delicious wedding breakfast and tempting trays of fruit and savoury snacks for the evening buffet. A large number of our party stayed at the Club for one, two or three nights and everyone spoke warmly of the lovely rooms, the great breakfast and the helpfulness of staff.
The Royal Scots Club offered a warm and intimate atmosphere for our daughter’s wedding and created for us all the happiest of days. It was also extremely good value for money. We are delighted to recommend it.
