Tips for Planning your 2018 Business Calendar

08/12/2017

It’s hard to believe we’re already talking about business and meetings in 2018 but any savvy businessperson should be looking ahead and getting themselves organised for the new year. You should be organising and planning for the next year, setting up meetings and where possible ensuring you have everything in place to get through the first couple of months successfully. If you’re a local Edinburgh company you many already have discussed with us your needs for our facilities but if you’re considering meeting in Edinburgh for the first time or from further afield, the sooner you get in touch the better.

Below are three top tips for getting ahead for 2018 when it comes to your business scheduling:

Learn Schedules

If you regularly meet with clients or vendors or similar, then get to know their regular schedules so you can build yours around them and suit them. If you have regular clients who are hard to pin down for meetings, then get in there early or consider opting for meeting nearer to them or even at their premises to avoid any excuses.

Optimise your Digital Communications

Once you begin organising events and meetings, make sure you have all the mail-outs and similar set up in a way which keeps your clients or similar interested. If you have meetings and conferences organised a few months into the year there is nothing wrong with regular mail-outs to boost interest and engagement in time for the event.

Remain Goal Focused

As 2017 draws to an end and particularly in January when the new year starts people become over-productive. There is this sense you must “do something” with the new year and this can lead to overscheduling and over committing in areas there is no need to. Instead, remain goal focused, if you have a monthly planning meeting, continue to do so, don’t schedule in additional meetings too. Similarly, if you have clients visiting in particular months, don’t feel the need to pack schedules out so there is no room for discussion or manoeuvre.

2018 is just around the corner and you want your business to be ready. Organising regular meetings both with clients and your own team can be key to the development of your business and our venue is always a great choice for meeting Edinburgh clients or bringing your team together.
