Centenary St Andrews Night Dinner

On Friday 29th November 2019, the Club is hosting a St Andrews Night Dinner and our guest speaker for the evening will be Professor David Purdie. David graduated in medicine from Glasgow University then followed an academic and research career, which took him to Leeds University as the Clinical Dean of the medical school. His scientific publications and his MD doctoral thesis were in the diagnosis and treatment of Osteoporosis, the brittle bone disease. He is a Honorary Fellow of IASH, Edinburgh University’s Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities. Fellows of IASH work in the fields of: Classics; Philosophy; History and English Literature. David is the author of humorous books on Golf and Academia – and is co-editor of The Burns Encyclopedia and Thring’s Practical Legislation. David is a Patron of the National Galleries and National Library of Scotland and a Contributor to the JP Morgan Library, New York City.
This is one of the Club’s most popular events so we advise booking early. A very special black tie evening, decorations can be worn where appropriate. The evening will begin with a glass of champagne on arrival followed by a 3 course dinner with wine and a whole evening’s entertainment.
